AFQT Practice Test

The score that decides eligibility

The big one. The AFQT is drawn from four subtests — Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge — and it's the score that decides whether you can enlist and which jobs you qualify for. This runs all four back to back and gives you an estimated AFQT percentile.

Every subtest explained, how the AFQT and line scores work, and how to study.

What to expect

  • Four timed sections in a row: WK, PC, AR, MK.
  • An estimated AFQT percentile and category at the end, with a per-section breakdown.
  • Worked explanations for every question in the review.

What it measures

  • Your estimated AFQT percentile (1–99)
  • Verbal Expression (WK + PC) and Maths (AR + MK)
  • Readiness against branch minimum scores

Instructions

  1. 1Treat it like the real thing — no notes, no calculator, timed.
  2. 2The AFQT weights Verbal double: AFQT ≈ 2 × VE + AR + MK.
  3. 3Your percentile is an estimate to guide study, not an official score.

Tips

  • Verbal counts double — don't neglect Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension.
  • Most branches need at least 31 (diploma) or ~50 (GED) to enlist.
  • Re-take it as you improve and watch the percentile climb.
